Welcome to the Children's Treatment Centre

The NEO Kids and Family Program's Children’s Treatment Center (CTC) is a family centered rehabilitation facility providing assessment, consultation and treatment services to children and youth with motor, developmental and communication challenges.

CTC’s across Ontario serve children and youth from birth to the time they are no longer attending school.

Family-Centered Care

We recognize that each family is unique and that you are the experts on your child’s abilities and needs. The strengths and needs of all family members are considered in family-centered service.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Anyone requiring information about NEO Kids programs and services, wanting to make a referral to our services or wishing to inquire if a child/youth is eligible for services, may contact NEO Navigation, central intake at 705-523-7120, option 1.

Your child is important to us, and we recognize that awaiting service can be stressful. We therefore strive to address the needs of our clientele as rapidly as possible. Wait times may vary according to the service or program required. Should your child’s situation change while you are waiting, please do not hesitate to contact the NEO Navigation Central Intake team at 705-523-7120, option 1.

A therapist or a secretary will call you to arrange an appointment. On your first visit, the therapist will begin a comprehensive assessment with input from you, the parent/caregiver. Once the assessment is complete, the therapist will provide you with recommendations for home programming and discuss additional appointments if needed.

The frequency of appointments will be determined by the therapist based on your child’s needs.

Social workers are available to assist families with making connections to support networks as needed. For more information, please contact NEO Navigation Central Intake at 705-523-7120, option 1.

Parent groups will be offered depending on our clients needs. We operate from a bottom-up approach which encourages the involvement of our families to participate in the selection of group topics being offered at CTC. Some examples may include::

  • Family support groups
  • Emotional regulation strategies
  • Positive discipline
  • Transition to adult services
  • Navigating funding applications

Services are funded through the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services. There is no cost for therapy sessions. Therapists will review with the parent/caregiver possible funding sources for any piece of equipment which may be needed/recommended.

Many programs exist to help families with the cost of equipment, renovation materials, as well as respite services. Some programs are based on the family’s yearly income and you must meet certain criteria to qualify. Your therapist and/or Social Worker can help you find financial assistance as needed.

If your child moves schools, please notify NEO Navigation at 705-523-7120, option 1. If you move out of the region, the service navigator can assist in transferring the referral or services to the SBRS provider in that region. The date of the original referral will be honoured by CTCs in Ontario. Social work support can also be provided to assist with the transfer of services should you/your family move and your child is not yet attending school.

Your teen's therapists, physicians, service coordinator, social worker, and school personnel all play an important role in helping your teen prepare for the transition to adult services. For more information, please contact NEO Navigation Central Intake at 705-523-7120, option 1.
