Our Programs
 

Children are accompanied by their parents/caregivers and receive therapy services within the center to address motor, developmental and/or communication challenges. These services may include assessment, treatment and/or consultation depending on the needs of the child. Recommendations for follow up and/or activity suggestions may be made to parents/caregivers to be implemented in the home as appropriate.
 

Eligibility

This program is provided to children and youth from birth until they no longer attend school depending on the needs of the child. Occupational Therapy and Speech Language services are provided to children from birth until their entry into school.

This in-center program is dedicated to providing intensive therapy services to pre-school aged children in a small group format. The program promotes all areas of a child’s development and involves both individual and group therapy. Team members include: program assistant, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, speech/language pathologist, communicative disorders assistant, social worker, volunteers and students. More information about this program can be obtained by speaking with your child’s therapist.
 

Eligibility

Children aged 2 to 4 years who are actively receiving service(s) at the Children’s Treatment Center.

Through this program, therapists work in consultation with licensed childcare providers in the daycare setting to provide assessment, consultation, and programming suggestions in order to facilitate each child’s function and successful integration. This may include addressing any equipment needs that are required within the daycare setting.
 

Eligibility

Preschool aged children attending a licensed Early Learning & Child Care Program within the City of Greater Sudbury.

The focus of this program is to provide therapy services for children and youth attending publicly-funded schools in order to promote their independence, function and participation in the school curriculum. Therapists provide assessment, treatment and consultation with dedicated staff in the school setting or virtually depending on the service provided and needs of the child. This may include addressing any equipment needs and/or staff training that are required within the school environment. Rehabilitation Assistants and/or Communication Disorders Assistants may also be involved in providing services through this program.
 

Eligibility

School aged children attending a publicly funded school with rehabilitation needs in the Sudbury area. These services can be accessed from school entry up until the child’s exit from school.

Referrals are accepted from the child’s school or from a Children’s Treatment Center therapist. Referrals are completed with parent/guardian consent. This program provides community-based services in outlying areas including Manitoulin Island, Espanola/Massey, Chapleau/Gogama/Foleyet, and Sudbury East. Assessment, treatment and/or consultation may be provided in a community clinic, daycare and/or school setting depending on the service provided and needs of the child.
 

Eligibility

Children and youth between the ages of 0 to 19 (21 if still enrolled in school) residing in outlying areas who require rehabilitation services. Preschool Speech and Language Services are provided by WordPlay/Jeux de Mots in Sudbury East, Espanola/Massey and Manitoulin Island.

This program provides a fun and stimulating group environment for children with mild motor impairment to work on their balance, strength, coordination, ball skills and cardiovascular fitness. Parents are required to attend the program with their child in order to facilitate their participation and to learn about strategies to help their child at home. Children are grouped together according to age and sessions are typically offered in the fall and winter months.
 

Eligibility

Children aged 4 to 12 with a mild gross motor delay.

This program is for children who have undergone BOTOX injections to their lower extremities. It is a group training program that will optimize the effects of the BOTOX to improve muscle function through strengthening, stretching, gait training, balance, social interaction and FUN! Children are challenged to be as independent as possible with their exercises. Parents are required to attend in order to facilitate their child’s participation and to learn about home programming suggestions.
 

Eligibility

Children and youth aged 4 to 18 who are receiving services from the Spasticity Management Clinic (Botox).

The therapeutic pool at Health Sciences North is accessible to clients of the NEO Kid’s CTC and provides benefits such as relieving pain, promoting relaxation, mobilizing joints, strengthening muscles, developing balance and coordination as well as improving general fitness. The Snoezelen equipment promotes relaxation and exploration in an enhanced sensory environment with lighting and sound effects. Programming is offered in a small group format for a block session. For more information, please speak with your child’s therapist.
