At Health Sciences North, we offer a wide variety of services and specialties to meet patient care needs. Our programs are regional leaders in key areas such as cancer care, cardiac care, nephrology, trauma, rehabilitation and many more.

All of our departments are committed to delivering high-quality health services, supporting learning and generating research opportunities that improve health outcomes for the people of Northeastern Ontario.

Cancer Care

The Northeast Cancer Centre (NECC) offers cancer treatment and support services to our cancer patients and their families.

Community Care and Rehabilitation

These programs focus on helping our patients improve their quality of life by maximizing their abilities and improving their independence.

Critical and Emergency Care

From registration and diagnostics to emergency and intensive care, these services and specialties care for our patients and their families in the most critical moments.

HAVEN

This HIV outpatient clinic provides care and various supports to our patients who are infected with HIV and their families.

Lab and Pharmacy

Medical Imaging

These programs are key for the diagnosis and treatment of almost everything that happens at HSN.

Medicine

We provide a full range of medical specialties such as cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, general medicine/family medicine, neurology, oncology and respiratory.

Mental Health and Addiction

These programs deliver personal and compassionate community and hospital-based care and services for our patients and their families.

NEO Kids and Family Program

These programs focus on our youngest patients and their families and include the birthing centre, various pediatric specialities, our NICU and infant and child development services.

Nephrology

This department specializes in providing dialysis services and caring for our patients with diseases of the kidneys like diabetes.

Surgical Care

Thousands of surgeries are performed each year at HSN in speciality areas like neurosurgery, orthopedics, urology, ear nose and throat, thoracic, cardiac surgery, vascular, plastic surgery, gynaecology, ophthalmology and general surgery.
