Geoff Jeffery, B.A., LL.B.

Geoff is a partner with Weaver Simmons LLP and his practice is restricted to the representation of employers in Labour and Employment Law. He has been in private practice since 1992. Since 1998, his practice has focused on the representation of management-side clients in labour and employment law in Northern Ontario. He has represented a wide variety of public sector, broader public sector and private employers. His clients are located throughout Northern Ontario. Geoff frequently provides seminars on a variety of subjects including human rights, accommodation of disabled workers, conducting investigations, attendance management, discipline practices and other issues related to labour law.

Geoff obtained his B.A. at the University of Western Ontario in 1986. He obtained his LL.B. from the University of Ottawa Law School in 1990 and was called to the Bar in 1992. He obtained a Certificate of Achievement in Alternative Dispute Resolution from the University of Windsor in 1996.

Geoff is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Canadian Bar Association - Labour Law Section, the Sudbury and District Law Association, Sudbury YMCA - Board of Directors (2001 - 2006), the Advocates’ Society, and the Canadian Association of Counsel to Employers (CACE). Geoff served as a Board Member and Chair of the Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce from 2014 to 2018. He served as a Board Member and Secretary/Treasurer of the West Panache Campers Association between 2015 and 2019.
