Radiography

An x-ray exam is a non-invasive medical test that helps doctors diagnose and treat medical conditions. X-ray exams use a small dose of ionizing radiation to produce pictures of the inside of the body. X-rays are the oldest and most frequently used form of medical imaging.

An x-ray exam may be performed on newborns to adults.

What to expect

You will need to register in the South or North Tower.

What to bring to the hospital or clinic for your x-ray?

Signed requisition from your doctor or walk-in clinic
Your health card
How should we prepare for the x-ray exam?

You may be asked to change into a gown to wear during the procedure.

All metal objects including jewelry, eyeglasses, hearing aids, may affect the x-ray images. You will be asked to remove objects before the x-ray

Most x-rays do not require any preparation.

Is an appointment required?

You do not need and appointment, x-rays will be completed on a first come first serve basis.

Fluoroscopy exams included in the patient resource section require an appointment.

When will I get my results?

You will not receive your results right away. Please contact your family doctor to discuss your results.
