Northeastern Ontario Stroke Network
The Northeastern Ontario Stroke Network consists of 1 Regional Stroke Centre (Health Sciences North), 3 District Stroke Centres (Sault Area Hospital, North Bay Regional Health Centre, Timmins and District Hospital). A regional program funded by the Ministry of Health since 2003, we guide and support the advancement of stroke care across the continuum.
Our regional team includes a Regional Director, 3 District Stroke Coordinators, Regional Rehabilitation Coordinator, Regional Education Coordinator, Designated Stroke Nurses, an Administrative Assistant, and a Medical Director. We support 4 Secondary Stroke Prevention Clinics across the region. We have 5 Telestroke Referring Sites in the region with more in development. The Network is advised by the Northeastern Ontario Regional Stroke Steering Committee and we respond to and act on direction and recommendations from CorHealth Ontario.
