Accommodation Information
On this page, you will find information about accommodation options near the Northeast Cancer Centre (NECC). NECC patients and family members/friends have to make their own arrangements for accommodation. Patients who live more than 200 KM from the NECC can apply for a grant through the Northern Health Travel Grant (NHTG). You require a signature from your oncologist on the NHTG application form, please ask for this signature when you are at the NECC.
You will not see hotel rates in this document. A number of the hotels listed are providing special rates to NECC patients, these rates can be requested by you by letting the hotel know you are a NECC patient. Some hotels require proof that you are an NECC patient before providing a special rate. Please see below for hotels that require this.
For some patients an agency may pay for your hotel expenses. If you are on ODSP or Ontario Works, please contact your worker/officer as soon as possible. If you are First Nation, please contact your health transportation office or health centre as soon as possible. If there is another agency/organization that may pay for your accommodation, please contact them as soon as possible. The earlier you make arrangements, the better.
If you have concerns about paying for a hotel, please contact your oncology team and they will provide you with direction.
