Rylee Restoule
Patient Advisor on the CEO Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC) since June 2021
I am an Ojibwe Franco-Ontarian from the Dokis First Nation in Northern Ontario. I am currently a biology student specializing in Health Sciences at Trent University and working towards becoming a physician. I’m very excited to be part of the Patient and Family Advisory Council! I hope to be involved in many discussions that lead to making HSN a great place for all patients. Ideally, I see the culture of healthcare becoming more inclusive. Many minorities do not experience an adequate standard of care, and I see a future in healthcare where that gap becomes non-existent.
I became a Patient and Family Advisor at HSN because I believe that everyone deserves to be heard when it comes to their healthcare. Being a young adult, I feel as though I can advocate for people closer to my age. I am also Indigenous and being able to advocate for and ensure that indigenous peoples receive full, well-rounded healthcare is very important to me.
