Stéphan C. Plante is a proven business developer, a trend setter and a visionary in the cooperative banking sector. He is the Director – Retail Banking for Desjardins Caisse populaire Voyageurs, with its headquarters in Sudbury and several offices throughout Ontario. Mr. Plante has an impressive work record in the financial sector, where he has been employed for over 20 years. Certified Financial Planner by profession, Mr. Plante was appointed to the management team in 2001.
Under his leadership, the Caisse's assets have grown from $70 Million in the early 2000’s, to over $1.5 Billion, with a total business volume under management of $3.4 Billion, making Caisse populaire Voyageurs the most important of the Desjardins network in Ontario. He is a graduate of Laurentian University with an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree and a Financial Planning Certificate and also a graduate of Moncton University with a master’s degree in Business Administration.
He presently serves as Co-Chair of La Place des Arts’ Capital Campaign and has served as Chair of the Board of Governors of Collège Boréal. He has sat on numerous Boards and participates on various committees in the business sector.
His dedication as a community leader was recognized by Laurentian University during their 50th Anniversary Award Ceremonies. A recipient of a Top 40 Under 40 Award from Northern Ontario Business; he was also named as one of Sudbury’s Movers and Shakers.
