Retirement plans
Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) – Full time employees of HSN participate in HOOPP. Eligible part-time employees also have the option of joining. The HOOPP is a defined benefit pension plan.
Group Registered Retirement Savings Plan (GRRSP)– Employees may contribute to our Group Registered Retirement Savings Plan. Employees have the ability to manage their own funds.
Employee discounts
Employees of HSN are eligible for various goods and services discounts from cellphone providers, fitness centres, vehicle cleaning services, furniture stores and more.
Incentive grants
The Rehabilitation Professionals Incentive Grant program offers incentive grants of up $15,000, paid over three years, to certain health care professionals who relocate to work at HSN to fill full-time positions. This funding is provided by the Ontario Ministry of Health & Long Term Care (MOHLTC) to attract and retain health care professionals in northern Ontario.

Health sciences library
The Health Sciences Library provides a full range of services and resources to support HSN staff, physicians, health care professionals, local faculty and students and health consumers. Twenty-four-hour access to medical literature is available to support evidence-based practice, including current books and journals, specialized medical databases, clinical practice guidelines and decision support tools. Librarians are available to assist and support your research and education needs through literature searches, article retrieval, training sessions and more.
