HSN Foundation Celebrates $1.041 Million Gift from FDC Foundation Supporting Surgical Safety and Capacity

GREATER SUDBURY, ON — Health Sciences North (HSN) and the HSN Foundation recognized a transformative $1.041 million donation from the FDC Foundation, supporting modernization of the hospital’s Medical Device Reprocessing Department (MDRD), a vital area responsible for cleaning, sterilizing, and preparing surgical instruments used in operating rooms across the hospital. The donation funded a new high-capacity cart washing system and a low-temperature sterilizer, modernizing workflow, reducing manual labor, and ensuring surgical instruments are prepared to the highest safety standards. $1.1M NOHFC grant accelerates Sudbury-based cancer innovation with global impact

GREATER SUDBURY, ON – A $1.1-million investment from the Ontario government through the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation is accelerating groundbreaking cancer research and innovation taking place right here in Sudbury.  This important support, totalling $1,157,000 strengthens the work of Rna Diagnostics, a clinical-stage molecular diagnostics company operating its laboratory at Health Sciences North Research Institute (HSNRI), as it advances toward commercialization of its Veridapt DX test platform, reinforcing Northeastern Ontario’s growing leadership in health innovation. Veridapt DX is designed to help oncologists determine early in treatment whether chemotherapy is effectively destroying a patient’s tumour. By measuring RNA disruption, a biological signal that indicates tumour response, physicians may be able to identify patients who are not responding to therapy and adjust care sooner, potentially reducing unnecessary side effects and...

Parking Rate Increases April 1, 2026

Please note that parking rates for visitors will be increasing as of April 1st by 4.3%. Daily rates will increase by 50 cents for preferred visitor and patient lots, with a maximum day pass rate going from $11.50 to $12.00. The price for the first hour of parking for patients and visitors will go from $4.00 to $4.50 for the first hour, and $3.00 to $3.50 for the second hour and remain at $2.00 for the third hour.
