June is Indigenous History Month

June is Indigenous History Month

Thursday, June 2, 2022

June is National Indigenous History Month and HSN and HSNRI are committed to continuous learning and celebrating the history and heritage of First Nations, Inuit and Metis communities.

As an organization, we are working towards a deeper understanding of Indigenous peoples and creating an established action plan framed by the calls to action from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC).

We begin the month by acknowledging that HSN is on Robinson-Huron Treaty Territory that has been inhabited by Indigenous peoples from the beginning.

In particular, we acknowledge the traditional territory of the Atikameksheng Anishnawbek. We recognize and deeply appreciate their historic connection to this place.

Miigwetch, Thank You, Merci!
