HSN welcomed Sudbury East- Manitoulin – Nickel Belt Member of Parliament, Jim Bélanger for a meeting with our leadership and clinical teams.
Mr. Belanger toured our Addictions Medicine Unit and met with Dr. Tara Leary, Regional Lead for Mental Health and Addictions Services, as accidental overdose is the leading cause of death in Greater Sudbury for people under the age of 49, a rate that’s outpacing provincial trends.
We visited with staff in our cardiology department to hear about new procedures being offered to patients across Northern Ontario, receive specialized care close to home.
Our Chief of Staff, Dr. Pankaj Bhatia, also noted the highly specialized work of our surgical teams, and discussed the importance of planning for HSN’s future expansion to support population growth and economic development, including Ontario’s Critical Minerals Strategy.
