Update to our visitor and designated care partner guidelines

Update to our visitor and designated care partner guidelines

Monday, October 24, 2022

COVID-19 continues to present challenges at HSN and in healthcare across the province. In Ontario, hospitalizations from COVID-19 are at their highest since May, exceeding 1,600 patients.

At HSN, the number of COVID-19 patients has more than doubled since the beginning of the month and we are currently monitoring 6 active COVID-19 outbreaks.

In response, our visitor and designated care partner guidelines have been updated. Please take note of the following changes:

  • Patients requiring an overnight hospital stay are allowed 1 designated care partner;
  • Patients giving birth are allowed 1 designated care partner
  • Patients are no longer allowed a designated care partner for general outpatient appointments, unless in special circumstances as noted on our website.

There are also no visitors permitted for units under a COVID-19 outbreak.

When visiting the hospital, please wear a mask, self-screen for symptoms and read our COVID-19 visitor information page before your visit.
