As of March 12, all programs and patient appointments at the Sudbury Outpatient Centre (SOC) on Regent Street are being rescheduled due to a flood that occurred early this morning. SOC is closed for the rest of this week.
Several hundred appointments have been impacted and those patients are being contacted directly to be rebooked as soon as possible.
We are kindly asking patients not to call about their appointments to make this process as seamless as possible.
The Sudbury Breast Diagnostic Assessment Unit has opened a temporary clinic for patients who were scheduled to see Dr. Michele Brule at the Ramsey Lake Health Centre for today only, and those patients are being contacted directly.
Staff at SOC have been asked to work remotely where possible.
Shortly after 5:00 AM on Wednesday, March 12, our teams discovered a leak from a hot water source on the fourth floor of the Sudbury Outpatient Centre.
Water then leaked down different sections of the building, eventually making its way to the basement, impacting levels 1, 2, 3 and 4 along with elevators.
We ask for everyone’s patience as our teams review the damage, assess next steps in rebooking appointments and reopening SOC.
We will communicate new information as it becomes available.
We thank our teams for their quick response to this incident and appreciate their efforts in getting through this situation.
We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused patients and families.
