This May we’re celebrating 10 years of HSN’s Virtual Critical Care (VCC) program – a first of its kind in Canada that has revolutionized care for critically ill patients in rural communities in Northeastern Ontario. VCC uses telemedicine to provide 24/7 access to Intensive Care physicians, nurses, and respiratory therapists, allowing remote consultations and support. VCC has reduced the need to transport critically ill patients, saving over $17.2 million in costs and helping more than 1,075 patients to stay in their local hospitals. VCC, a pioneering model in Canada, has improved access to specialized care regardless of geography, enhancing healthcare delivery across the region. Congratulations to our VCC Team for leading the way in providing quality care to patients of Northeastern Ontario.
