Health Sciences North is committed to strengthening its academic and research impact through its programs and services, such as our Simulation Lab! In the Sim Lab, staff, students, medical learners, and volunteers have the exciting opportunity to learn and develop new, hands on skills before ever working with patients.

Tammy Lutha, a Registered Nurse on our Cardiac Inpatient Unit, recently utilized special equipment from the Sim Lab to take part in Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) training.

“Thanks to the Sim team, our staff can safely practice their skills prior to performing on an actual patient. This is a huge win for our cardiac nurses, as it helps to ensure that our staff who are new to the PCI room are comfortable in their skills and ability to care for our cardiac patients, not only at HSN, but throughout the North East Local Health Integration Network,” says Veronique Trudel, Nurse Clinician on the Cardiac Inpatient Unit.
