Preventing the spread of infection is a top priority at Health Sciences North.

If you are a visitor or designated care partner (DCP) and planning to visit a unit on outbreak, please read the following reminders:

  • DO NOT visit a unit on outbreak if you are not feeling well or have any new or worsening cold symptoms.
  • Masks and the appropriate personal protective equipment is required.
  • Visitors are NOT permitted to eat or drink in patient rooms.
  • Cleaning your hands is the single most important way to reduce infections. Do this frequently, including when you enter and exit a patient’s room

Temporary visitation restrictions for visitors and/or DCPs may be put into effect at anytime during an outbreak. This means that you may be asked to leave or not visit for a period of time. In this case, visitation may be allowed with approval from the unit manager for compassionate reasons.
