Celebrating International Women's Day

Wednesday, March 6, 2024

In honour of International Women’s Day, we are celebrating the incredible women at HSN who play integral roles in providing exceptional, patient-centered care and are leading the way to healthcare excellence across Northeastern Ontario.

Kelli-Ann Lemieux is the Vice-President for Surgical and Clinical Services at HSN and Clinical Lead for our new Electronic Medical Record (EMR) project.

She is proud to be contributing to innovative solutions that improve patient care in Northeastern Ontario.

“I am excited to be part of a team that is revolutionizing healthcare delivery through technological advancement in our region. Our new EMR is an opportunity to connect providers across Northern Ontario in a way that no other region in Ontario has done.”

When asked what advice she would give young women planning a career in healthcare and technology she said the key is to “stay curious and continuously seek opportunities for learning and growth.”

“Technology and healthcare are rapidly evolving fields. Try and find like minded female leaders to keep you inspired and don't underestimate the value of soft skills such as communication, collaboration, and empathy, as they are crucial in healthcare technology roles. Finally, remember that your unique perspective and contributions as a woman in healthcare technology are invaluable, so don't hesitate to speak up and make your voice heard.”

Thank you to Kelli-Ann and to all the women who make a positive impact on healthcare in our community, region, and beyond!
