Wednesday, December 13, 2023

After an extensive search process, HSN is pleased to announce that Jessica Diplock has accepted the position of Vice-President, People and Culture with Health Sciences North (HSN).

Jessica has been serving in the interim role since February of 2023 where she has been responsible for the oversight and delivery of a full complement of services and functions, including Human Resources, Occupational Health & Safety, and Leadership & Learning.

She’s also responsible for the oversight of corporate governance at HSN to ensure that the Board of Directors and its committees can fulfill their duties in an effective manner and serves as the staff resource to the Governance and Nominating Committee and the Executive Committee of the Board.

“Jessica is a dynamic, solutions-oriented, client-focused leader with progressive leadership experience in both the private and public sectors. Jessica is a confident and articulate professional with demonstrated success in engaging, influencing, building, and leading diverse groups of people to achieve results. We’re delighted to have her in this role,” says David McNeil, President and CEO of HSN.

She brings 23 years of experience to the role, including 11 years in private healthcare organizations. She joined HSN in 2011 and has held the following positions: Clinical Coordinator of the Oncology Supportive Care Program; Manager of Oncology and Preventive Screening, Diagnostic Assessment Programs, Genetics and the Daffodil Terrace Lodge; Organizational Excellence Consultant; and finally, Director of the Office of the Chief of Staff.

“I am thrilled to have been offered this opportunity. I truly love the work that I do and who I get to work with at HSN. Growing up in Sudbury and now raising my family in Northern Ontario, I’m so excited to be able to work with our teams as we develop a culture that helps attract and retain top healthcare talent for patients and families of Northeastern Ontario,” says Diplock.

Recruitment and retention of health human resources will continue to be a top priority in her new role. The organization has recruited 551 new staff between April and September of this year, a net gain of 224 staff. Our goal is to keep that momentum going throughout 2024.

A nine member selection committee composed of leaders from across HSN and the community was involved in the selection process.
