The HSN Service Awards were held in person last Thursday November 30 for the first time since 2019!
Close to 100 award recipients enjoyed an elegant evening of dinner, games and accolades from senior leadership.
This special annual event honours staff who celebrated 25, 30, 35, 40 and 45 years working for Health Sciences North and those that have retired from our organization in the previous year.
This year’s event was the first to combine honours for staff and physicians at HSN and HSNRI and the room was full of a wide variety of passionate healthcare professionals!
CEO David McNeil was happy to open the event and impressed with the breadth of experience represented in the attendees. In his remarks, he took a moment to acknowledge the immense change that has occurred over the years of service for attendees. “So much has changed about this organization since you joined but one thing that remains the same is the passion we all share for delivering quality healthcare to the people of Northeastern Ontario. Thank you for everything you have done as an employee or physician to keep that spirit alive and well at HSN over the years.”
Our new Chief of Staff, Dr. Pankaj Bhatia and Jessica Diplock, Interim Vice President of People Relations and Corporate Affairs, also spoke at the event.
Jessica took time to thank all the recipients for their service and dedication to a challenging career path. “Healthcare isn’t an easy career choice but the rewards far outweigh the challenges, since you know what you do everyday truly matters. Thank you for being that special kind of person that chooses a career in healthcare.”
