Sydnie Cutler
Recreation Therapist

My name is Sydnie, I'm a Recreation Therapist with the Integrated Chronic Pain Program. My role on the team is to connect with clients and help them realize their full potential through recreational and leisure opportunities.

I always knew I wanted a career that focused on helping others, and what better avenue to pursue than one that solely focuses on one's personal goals and the steps on how to achieve them.

"Play" is such an integral part of one's quality of life and overall health. I love connecting clients to past leisure's, or to help them find something completely new. The benefits of spending time doing the things that we enjoy are limitless.

My hopes are that by empowering clients to take control of their holistic health through doing the things they love, they'll see a decrease in isolation and an increase in motivation and independence to continue on their own in the community. If I can help others improve at least one aspect of their life, then that's a win for me.

Laurie Reed
Social Worker

I have been an employee of Health Sciences North since 1990 and have worked on various inpatient units including our former sites at Memorial Hospital and St. Joseph Health Center. Presently I am the Social Worker on the Intensive Care and Cardiac Medical Unit.

I love the solution focus, client centered approach of the Social Worker profession. I never tire of hearing patient/family stories and our ability as a multi-disciplinary team to support these individuals through their journey.

Employment at HSN has become a family affair, with two of my three daughters employed here. When not at work, I enjoy a range of travel experiences, time with my family/friends, engaging in local cultural events, yoga, reading and perhaps a bit of chocolate!
