Pre-Screening: Before Students Can Apply for a Co-op with Health Sciences North
A prospective Co-op student must be pre-screened by their school's Co-op education teacher before they are recommended to Volunteer Services for a placement with HSN and begin the Co-op application process
Volunteer Services recommends that teachers assess students based on the following factors:
If the teacher feels the student is a suitable candidate for a Co-op with HSN, they can complete and submit the necessary forms below. Volunteer Services will invite acceptable candidates to come in for an interview. The interview explores the student’s personality, maturity, strengths, experiences, interests and ability to manage diverse responsibilities.
Volunteer Services strives to assign students to their preferred placement. Assignment opportunities are discussed during the interview. Acceptance of the Co-op student will be determined by the outcome of the screening process and the availability of placement.
