Health Sciences North has a vision of becoming globally recognized for patient-centred innovation. The hospital will respond to changing needs and advocate for resources and services that promote patient-centred care in the communities we serve.

The purpose of the Ontario Regulation 429/07 and the Ontarians with Disabilities Act 2005 (AODA) is to improve opportunities for people with disabilities and to provide for their involvement in the identification, removal and prevention of barriers to their full participation in the life of the province. The AODA mandates that all hospitals prepare annual accessibility plans.

To this end, the Health Sciences North Accessibility Working Group was struck to prepare an annual plan, which involves stakeholders in identifying and removing barriers, which is consistent with the Health Sciences North vision.
