What is the Adult Asthma Clinic?

The Adult Asthma Clinic is an outpatient program of Health Sciences North. we are located on the second floor of the Centre for Life in Sudbury, Ontario.

You must be refered by your Physician or Nurse Practitioner to access the program. (For a printable Adult Asthma Clinic referal page click here)

The clinic offers individualized, assessment, treatment, education and follow-up care for adults who have asthma.

Education sessions are provided by Certified Asthma Educators. Care and treatment is based on best practices, following the Canadian Thoracic Society Asthma Guidelines.

Goals:

To educate clients and their families about asthma.

To identify asthma triggers and trigger avoidance strategies.

To teach correct use of inhaler devices, peak flow meters and spacers.

To explain asthma medications.

To establish an action treatment plan with physician/Nurse Practitioner.

To provide follow-up for continued asthma control.
